In this episode Tim and China interview and hang out with Mitch Canham.

Mitch Canham burst onto the National scene as the catcher for the two time National Champion Oregon State Beavers.  Back to back Champions in 2006-2007. Legendary and still head coach Pat Casey for the Beavers said Mitch was the best leader in the country.

Out of college he was a first round pick by the San Diego Padres and spent 9 seasons in the minor leagues with 6 organizations and 14 different teams.

Thinking the minor league life style was over this year he got a call from the Seattle Mariners to be the manager of the Clinton Lumberjacks (Single A team in the Midwest League). Here is the funny thing, Mitch has never managed or coached a game in in his life. His team goes on to win 86 games and come up one game short in the Midwest League Championship game.

He’s already been promoted and will be the manager for the Modesto Nuts in the 2017 season.

In this episode Tim and China sit down for an interview for YSPN360.com. YSPN360 is a company dedicated to providing proper youth instruction from elite level coaches and instructors. They also wish to prioritize the fun and enjoyment of the players while also teaching the fundamentals of athletics.

Tim and China dive into their observations of youth sports over the years and also the current scope of youth athletics. They dive into what parents should look for, how to empower the athlete, and many other tools and concepts that can help get the most out of an athlete’s youth sports experience.

At the end of the day it is all about making sure that the athlete is having fun. It is not about a championship at 9 years old. It is not about going 365 days a year on one sport alone. It is about an athlete having fun and developing both on and off the field. Enjoy!

In this episode Tim and China discuss the concept of Self Competition. In this increasingly short attention span society, we have to hold ourselves accountable for what wee focus on. We have the power to control our actions and a lot of our thoughts and not much else. We must learn to live internally and compete to be the best version of ourselves every day.

Tim and China discuss Tim’s saying, “You are either an amateur or you're a professional.” Basically, every decision that you make you have an opportunity to be an amateur or a professional. If you are competing with yourself to be elite, and to be the best version of yourself, train yourself to make the professional decision. This could be something as simple as brushing your teeth before bed. The more small professional decisions you make over time, the more your standard will be professional and not amateur.

Be a professional tribe! Kick today’s ass one decision at a time!

Mar 4, 2018

In this episode Tim and China discuss the societal temperature on topics like loyalty, service and being there for others. They also talk about the power of seeking solutions instead of focusing on the problem or the drama in life.

In the modern world the attention span is rapidly declining. If we are not careful, our routine and the mundane will take over our lives. Tim and China challenge the tribe to reflect on their lives and take responsibility for what happens to them. We have so much more control of our lives than we give ourselves credit for.

Take control of your life and seek the solution rather than focusing on the problem and the drama. Simplify your life and define what it is that you want and go get it!

In this episode Tim and China talk about the lost art of being cordial. So many of us get consumed by technology and our routine that we forget about human-to-human connection. We forget about the power of “please” and “thank you”. We forget about the power of eye contact and a simple smile.

Tim and China discuss experiences from their own life to display he power of being cordial. The amazing thing is that we all have the equal ability to treat others with peace, love and positivity. It is a choice. If you begin to implement situational awareness, and treating people positively, you will see a tremendous positive shift in your life.

Take the journey with Tim and China on this episode and enjoy!

In this episode China and Tim discuss the concept of diversification.

A lot of times we think of diversification as a financial term that has to do with stock portfolios but it is so much more than that. We can diversify our lives to bring multiple areas of passion into our lives to live more abundantly. If we are focused too much on one thing, and that thing goes south or negative, it affects all of our life. If we diversify our lives one problem will not derail us and we can put our energy into other fields of passion.

The key to successful diversification is give 100% of your effort and 100% of your focus to whatever the task at hand is. You want your hands in a bunch of different things but you want to focus on one thing at a time in the moment. That is the key to successful diversification. Commit to the moment and give the task at hand your all before moving on to the next one.

Learn how to diversify your life effectively in this episode from Tim and China and get to work!

In this episode Tim and China discuss the topic of Labeling.

Things are labeled in our lives from the very second we are born. We are programmed to think a certain way, look a certain way and strive for certain things. Our peers, our family and the media program us constantly to label situations, individuals or circumstances a certain way. We do not even notice that we structure our life based on these labels and get far away from our true and genuine self.

We have to analyze what our societal expectations versus our personal expectations. Are your personal expectations yours or are they what societal labels have created in your head?

Tim and China dive deep in to these concepts and give you actionable steps to make sure you are living a genuine life and taking ownership of your labels for the world. Enjoy!

In this episode China talks to Tim about his episode 70 interview with Dr. Mike and Andrew from MoveU.com

China asks Tim questions about his experience with both Dr. Mike and Andrew and what he took away from the Pop Pod’s first in-person interview. What struck Tim the most was their passion and genuine energy towards helping others with their program. It was clear and evident right away that they care more about helping their clients with their health and well being than they care about making a buck.

Here are some of the other bullet points that Tim and China took away from the interview:

  • Have intention
  • Have conviction towards whatever you are doing for yourself and for others
  • Be purposeful with your words
  • Simplify and bring passion and energy into your life

In this episode Tim and China talk about the good old New Years Resolutions. Why do we always make January 1st so important? It is as if we think we can overhaul our entire thought process in one day. Tim and China discuss how we can maintain good habits and productive daily actions all year long and all life long.

What do we all want? We want to live our authentic life and be the best versions of ourselves. In order to get there we have to have a vision and take daily actions to get towards that goal. After that we need to reflect on those actions and see if we are getting close to that vision or not. Either way, it gives us valuable information as to what we need to do next.

If those actions are getting closer to our vision, we continue and build momentum. If those actions are getting us farther away from our vision, we make adjustments and continue to move forward. The final step is having the patience to achieve your goals. Patience is the hardest part but anything worth achieving takes time.

Vision + Action + Reflection + Patience = Authentic Best Self

Set your vision. Take action. Reflect. Have patience. Enjoy your authentic self!

Dec 31, 2017

In this episode Tim and China discuss all you need to know to have your best year. Many people use the end of the year as an excuse to reset and set New Year’s Resolutions. This is not a bad tradition. However, if you only keep your discipline for the first six weeks of the year and then go back to your bad habits you need to make a change!

It is all about trusting the process of what you are doing no matter if it is the beginning of the year, middle of the year, etc. Tim and China discuss continuous goal setting and how to keep yourself motivated and disciplined all year long. Enjoy this episode and HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Dec 24, 2017

In this episode Tim and China discussion to change your perspective in a way that better serves you. A lot of times we will focus on the minor negative part of a situation instead of the amazing amount of positive in that same situation. If something changes us from our routine a lot of times we have a negative reaction. We don't embrace change, we fight it and try to find something to blame for that change.

China and Tim discuss this and how it relates to their lives. They also discuss how this is so relevant around the holidays. We have so much to be thankful for and yet we let little negatives snowball out of control and effect us more than they should. Enjoy this episode and learn how to change your focus to the amazing blessings in your life and all of the positive around you.

Dec 17, 2017

In this episode Tim and China dive in to the societal view of what it means to be “lucky”. Lucky seems to be thrown around a lot these days when it comes to people accomplishing things. No one wants to admit that success takes hard work, sacrifice and grit and so they just accept the excuse that successful people must be fortunate or lucky to be where they are. This is BULL SHIT!

Hard work, self-discipline and sacrifice is what creates luck for yourself. Most anything that is accomplished in life is hard work and NOT luck. The harder you work, the luckier you seem to get.

Are you aligning yourself with purpose?

Do you know what you are trying to accomplish?

Are you creating your own luck?

Ask yourself these questions. Determine what makes you feel lucky and GO WORK FOR IT!

Dec 15, 2017

This is the type of reflection they want the Tribe to be partaking in constantly. That is the journey of life. We enjoy our successes, learn from our mistakes, and use both equally to improve over time. As the new year fast approaches take a look back at all of your experiences in 2017. Analyze what made you successful, where you can improve and what you want to accomplish in 2018 and beyond. With that type of big planning you can decide what daily actions are necessary to get you where you want to go!

Dec 3, 2017

Do you invest in the moment you are in?

Do you enjoy each moment intentionally?

Do you analyze whether you are using excuses or action?

These are the types of questions Tim and China discuss in this episode. Do you have a system that works for you to get you to where you want to go. The number one lesson is to just show up and start. Often times starting can be the hardest part. Once you start you can accomplish anything that you can imagine!

Nov 26, 2017

In this episode China and Tim discuss the struggles that we often face during the Holiday Season. Laziness, overeating, complacency and other related topics are all possibilities during this time of year. Tim and China discuss these possibilities in depth and actionable steps to avoid or combat them.

When you are living an elite lifestyle you gain ground and separate yourself during periods where normal and average people stay the same or move backwards. The Holiday Season is a perfect example of this. Many people lose all of the momentum they have created all year because they fall victim to their surroundings. It gets darker earlier, there are plenty of bad meal opportunities and the possibilities of mistakes and slip-ups are greater.

In this episode get the tools and mindset to combat these negative possibilities and continue to get better and get closer to the best version of yourself!

Nov 19, 2017

In this episode Tim and China discuss the topic of consistency. China uses his personal battle with Anxiety and shares how attempts to achieve mental health consistency. Tim shares his action steps and how achieves consistency on a daily basis.

Consistency is about making the right choices on a daily basis. It is also about being able to get over a bad choice quickly. If you have 99 out of 100 good days you should not beat yourself up over the 1 bad day. You should learn from it and move on.

Dive into the topic of consistency with Tim and China and analyze the meaning of these words for yourself:

-Purpose -Perception -Practice -Purpose -Perspective -Position -Priorities -Predator

That has been the biggest change for China in his Mental Health Journey and he encourages everyone to get involved and share with their community to raise awareness this November.

Oct 22, 2017
